A while a ago I did a book cover for HimmelfahrtsKommando, which is also planed to be a limited edition poster for the movie. A couple days ago I finally got a copy of the book. Stefen has written an amazing story.

Oh that nose...

This coming Friday (June 8th) in LA, I will have a piece in a show in tribute to Steve Martin. My piece is based on Roxanne, you know the one where he is a firefighter with a big nose.

Happy Friday

Creature Magazine was kind enough to give me a spot on fridays to wish you a happy friday.

Month of May

I took off the month of May and went traveling with Jessica. Our journey was full of beautiful sights and interesting people, but also days of strange toilet situations and the desperate search for cheap food. Here is some documentation of my wanderings

Nice, France

 Because we were traveling on a budget most of our meals consisted of some kind of bread and cheese. I really like Supermarkets in other countries, it is always a surprise to find out what you actually bought compared to what you thought you did.

Marseille, France

We encountered some high speed winds in Marseille, the seagulls had some trouble flying.

By far the cutest french city I have been in.

Versaille was impressive. We took a break to paint in Marie Antoinette's Estate, which was kind of ridiculous if you thought about it. 

Amsterdam, Holland

Last stop,  and the cutest city. I picked up bed bugs from Paris but I still really enjoyed it.

Venezia

As pregame to next month I spent four days in Venice, Italy. It was nice to have some sun and days to draw the city. The whole city is on water sort of and connected by canals and small ally ways. It was strange not to see any cars or bikes. I really loved all the old building that are falling apart and potentially sinking.

My favorite part of my trip was Burano, An island a bit away from Venice. It was full of brightly colored houses, canals and lace shops (that is their specialty). Oh and men in striped shirts steering boats are real. They even wear the hats (but maybe just for the sake of the tourist).

Doppelgänger

Fumetto is up and running. By an unfortunate error my name was misspelled, so for those who were looking for my work you can find me under "Danielle Bürle" or "Danielle Buerle" at the Rössligasse 12 with Kornel Stadler and Jonas Baumann. I dropped by yesterday and it looks great. So if it starts looking like this you are in the right direction.

Post and Print

With the Fumetto Comicbook Festival around the corner, I got my prints ready. I am really happy with the result.
